I started this book back in 2002, put it away for a few years (busy with other projects), then began writing in earnest again and updating the research in 2010. I have just returned from another trip to China; this time to the Southwest—Sichuan, Guizhou, and Yunnan Provinces. I’ll be posting about that and my trip two months ago to Guangdong and Taiwan.
